We are a married couple in our early 30's who got tired of the rat race of corporate America and set out to find or possibly create something more inspiring to us. We left our careers in May 2018 and set off for South America where we are currently traveling and volunteering as we try to learn Spanish and find ways to give back to communities and the planet. This podcast will document our travels as well as feature interviews from other amazing travelers and organizations that are doing things a little different. Ep 18 - Exploring Easter Island (Rapa Nui)
Thursday May 16, 2019
Thursday May 16, 2019
Easter Island (or Rapa Nui) is a tiny, 63 square mile island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is part of Chile but located over 2,300 miles from Sanitago and is considered one of the most remote inhabited islands in the world. It is also known for Moai, the large stone statues all over the island carved hundreds of years ago. When we left for South America we had no intention of going to this island, however, another volunteer we met in Bolivia convinced us it was worth trying to go (it didn't take much convincing). Long story short, we found a workaway on the island and inexpensive plane tickets and booked the trip. We spent the month of April 2019 on Easter Island. It was an amazing island to explore, we tell you all about it in this episode!

Ep 17 - Epic Patagonia Campervan Trip Part 2
Monday Apr 29, 2019
Monday Apr 29, 2019
In 2007, Kris and I drove a campvervan twice in Australia for one week at a time and fell in love with that type of travel. We always dreamed of doing a longer trip and decided to make it happen in Patagonia. From February 25 to April 2, 2019, we drove a campvervan from Punta Arenas to Santiago, Chile. We explored southern Argentinian Patagonia, spent a lot of our time driving the Carretera Austral through Chilean Patagonia, then crossed back into Argentina further north before crossing again back to Chile near Santiago. We covered almost 4,000 miles in 5 weeks. This episode is a compilation of excerpts we recorded during the second half of our van trip (go listen to Episode 16 for the first part). It was an epic adventure so listen now!
